Coach Doss

  • Married to Brian (22 years)
  • Full-Time Homeschool Mom to Hannah (17), Brissa (15), Jos (13), and Josiah (11), one adult, Caleb (18), who is studying broadcast media at WT, and our newest member, Timothy (3 Mos)
  • Graduated UTA 2006 & WTAMU Sports & Exercise Science (master’s degree- 2024)
  • Thesis: Identifying Risk Factors for Overuse Injuries in JH & HS Homeschooled T&F Athletes
  • Ongoing Research: Comparison of Two Training Protocols for Youth Distance Athletes; Injury Prevention in Homeschool Youth Athletes; Coach Training
  • Lubbock JH and HS Track and XC Coach since 2020; Private coach since 2005
  • Ran collegiate XC at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago
  • Currently training for a BQ; Current marathon time = 3:35:15
  • Has competed in race distances from 4x100m to 100 miles…Most recently completed Tunnel Hill 50 miles at 9 weeks post partum.
  • USATF Level 1 Certification (Track and Field Level 1)
  • USAW Level 1 Certification (Olympic Weightlifting Level 1)

Coach BDoss

  • Sprint, Hurdle, Relay, and Throwing Coach
  • Married to Melissa (22 years)

  • Graduated WTAMU 2020 BA in Business Administration with CIS focus & WTAMU MBA with CIS focus 2024
  • Lubbock JH and HS Track since 2022. Beginner/Intermediate Weightlifting since 2024.

Coach Groomer

  • 12 years of head coaching (8 years of softball, 2 track)
  • Assistant coach in Volleyball, Cross Country, and Baseball
  • Associate degree from Saddleback College in Mission Viejo CA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from TCU
  • Master’s degree in Exercise Sport Psychology from Texas Tech University
  • 2 semesters teaching at Texas Tech as an adjunct professor teaching Intro level courses in Movement Science and Sport Psychology
  • 16 years teaching in public education grades 6-12 (Social Studies, Physical Education) 
  • Back-to-back state champion teams from Farmington NM 4A and the largest in NM
  • All district inf Junior year
  • All district, All state 2B my senior year
  • All district infielder freshmen year at El Paso Community College
  • All district Infielder at Saddleback College One of the top Jr. College conferences in the country
  • TCU Led the WAC in on-base percentage while breaking and still holding the school record for hit-by-pitch at 28 times
  • Earned 1st team 3B from the Texas Collegiate Coaches Association

  • 2x World Championship Team Ghana Coach (2022 & 2023) Eugene, Oregon & Budapest, Hungary. Team Ghana 4x100m finished 5th in Eugene.

  • Taught public school for 10 years

Paige Byford

  • High Jump Coach
  • Collegiate Track & Field athlete for Lubbock Christian University
  • President’s undergraduate student at Lubbock Christian University pursuing a degree in Exercise Sports Science with an emphasis in Sports Psychology as an aspiring sports psychologist
  • Two-time Lone Star Conference competitor in High Jump
  • Paige enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family and traveling to exciting new places. She loves academics and is a peer tutor at LCU. Along with years of experience working with adolescents in church settings, Paige finds joy leading worship for her church in Lubbock.
